 | the City of Gillette. For fun in Gillette, I golfed, hunted, visited the Black Hills,
and skied in Colorado. I finally had my fill of WY and MT so I made the "Great
Escape" to Petersburg, AK at the invitation of friends and former classmates living
there in Petersburg. |
 | My education began in the commercial fishing industry. I first
worked on a crab boat as a deck hand and after learning the "in's and out's", I
purchased the boat from my boss and continued the business of crabbing, I worked on
another boat during the various opening of salmon, halibut, black cod and other fish.
Later when I was certified as a diver, I dove for abalone in the cold Alaskan waters. I
worked at various jobs when fishing wasn't open. |
 | I managed to go to Oahu, Hawaii, 2 or 3 months in the
winter to work, play and enjoy the worm sun, lovely beaches and what was on them. This is
where I was certified to dive. I loved snorkeling, especially in Hanauma Bay, boogie
boarding at any of the beaches, hiking, and I usually picked up some work while I was
their. |
 | Mrs. Right never came along for me, although I've kept looking.
I've had the most wonderful friends along the way, and I've had the love and support of my
family all along the way. Petersburg has been my last home and the place where I could
enjoy all the activities I've loved with my friends. I've done my share of fishing, hunted
for deer, moose and bear. I went to places I'd never heard of and enjoyed the most
beautiful scenery in the world. |
 | Alaska, was my last wonderful home. I died November 5, 1993, in
Petersburg. I was 34 and I had a sudden heart failure at the Petersburg swimming pool
where I was working for the WSI. I had a heart condition known as Wolfe Parkenson White. |
Remember : Life is what you make it, I made the most of my life. |
